Gemini Google Workspace Integration on WearOS

Gemini connects with Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Calendar, and Drive to provide productivity features directly from your WearOS watch. Summarize emails, check your schedule, and manage documents with voice commands.

Setting Up Workspace Integration​

Enable Gemini access to your Workspace apps through your phone.

  • Enable Extensions: On your phone, open Gemini tap your profile Extensions enable Google Workspace. This grants access to Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Drive.

  • Account Sync: Your watch must use the same Google account as your Workspace apps. Verify in Settings Google Accounts on your watch.

  • Permission Sync: After enabling on your phone, allow a few minutes for permissions to sync to your watch. Restart your watch if features don't appear.

  • Enterprise Accounts: Google Workspace business accounts may have admin restrictions on Gemini integration. Contact IT if features are blocked.

Gmail Integration​

Manage your inbox from your wrist using voice commands.

  • Email Summaries: Say Summarize my recent emails or What important emails did I get today for quick overviews without reading full messages.

  • Specific Searches: Say Find emails from John about the project or Show me emails with attachments from this week to locate specific messages.

  • Quick Replies: Say Reply to the last email saying I'll review it tomorrow to send brief responses without typing.

  • Email Composition: Say Compose an email to Sarah about the meeting agenda to draft new messages with voice input.

Calendar Management​

Stay on top of your schedule throughout the day.

  • Schedule Overview: Say What's on my calendar today, Do I have any meetings this afternoon, or When's my next free time.

  • Meeting Details: Say Tell me about my 3 PM meeting to hear attendees, location, and any attached documents or agenda.

  • Quick Scheduling: Say Schedule a meeting with Tom next Tuesday at 2 PM to create new calendar events.

  • Conflict Alerts: Ask Am I free Thursday morning before scheduling to avoid double-booking.

Drive and Docs Access​

Access and manage documents hands-free.

  • Document Summaries: Say Summarize my project proposal document to get key points without opening the full file.

  • Recent Files: Say What documents did I work on recently or Show my shared files to find what you need.

  • Voice Notes: Say Create a new document called meeting notes to start capturing ideas immediately.

  • File Search: Say Find the budget spreadsheet to locate files in your Drive.

Limitations on WearOS​

Workspace integration has some restrictions on smartwatches.

  • Read-Heavy: Most features focus on reading and summarizing rather than editing. Complex document editing requires your phone or computer.

  • Attachment Limits: Gemini can describe attachments but can't display complex files like spreadsheets or presentations on your watch screen.

  • Response Length: Email and document summaries are shortened for watch display. Ask follow-up questions for more detail.

  • Network Required: All Workspace features require active WiFi or LTE connection. Offline access isn't available.
